【国际MSO快讯】Vodafone收购虚商Lebara在澳大利亚的业务

 

Vodafone澳大利亚公司收购了虚商Lebara澳大利亚的移动业务资产,包括其基础客户和在澳大利亚地区使用Lebara品牌的权利。然而此次收购中关于财务方面的细节并未透露。

 

2009年Lebara于澳大利亚推出，使用Vodafone的网络，6月起可访问4G网络。Vodafone首席战略官丹·劳埃德表示这将有助于客户的无缝过度。

 

Vodafone将保留Lebara品牌作为一个独立的移动实体,并且将继续使用Lebara员工和客户服务代理,以及Lebara现有的客户服务和销售渠道。Lebara CEO Yoganathan Ratheesan表示，沃达丰增加Lebara品牌的业务后，可以为顾客提供低价的国际移动通讯服务。

Vodafone Australia is purchasing MVNO Lebara's Australian mobile business assets, including its customer base and the right to use the Lebara brand in Australia. No financial details of the takeover were disclosed.

 

Lebara launched in Australia in 2009 and uses the Vodafone network, including 4G access since June. This should help make the transition "seamless" for customers, said Vodafone chief strategy officer Dan Lloyd.

 

Vodafone will retain the Lebara brand as a separate mobile entity, and as such will keep on all Lebara Mobile employees and customer service agents, as well as Lebara's existing customer service and sales channels. Adding the Lebara brand to its business will allow Vodafone to provide consumers with low-cost international mobile calling, Lebara CEO Yoganathan Ratheesan said.

 

Vodafone Australia is a 50-50 joint venture between Vodafone Group and Hutchison and counts around 5 million customers. Lebara has around 130,000 customers in Australia. Following the takeover, Lebara will continue to operate its Lebara Play and Lebara Money services in Australia and remains active as a MVNO in seven other countries.

Deutsche Telekom and Huawei have passed the 1 gigabit speed barrier for mobile data transfers in the LTE network, reaching over 1.22 Gbps via mobile radio during a live demonstration in Berlin.

 

To achieve the speeds, the companies deployed a technology mix of four sending and receiving channels (4x4MIMO) and five carrier frequencies for the first time. The companies used LTE Advanced Pro, with a conventional mobile base station bundled with a small cell system and with data traffic flowing over five carrier frequencies instead of just one.
